Yerba mansa -Anemopsis californica- or lizard tail. Leaf blades 2- 6 inches long and flowers ½ to 1 ¼ long. Smooth plants in patches, with oblong leaves and starlike flower heads with cone-like centers. A valued medicinal plant among indigenous people, the powered rhizome is used in teas for stomach problems and in poultices for skin problems. Blooms through out the American Southwest and northern Mexico May through August.
